Chris Rock returned to the "Saturday Night Live" stage as host in an episode that offered a unique take on Ebola woes and other international headlines.
For his opening monologue, Rock performed a stand-up routine that touched on Sunday's New York City Marathon and America's tendency to commercialize holidays.
When talking about Christmas he said, "Jesus kept a low profile and we turned his birthday into the most materialistic day of the year. Ain't no bling on Jesus!"
The cold open scene spoofed Fox's "The Kelly File." Host Megyn Kelly (Cecily Strong) interviewed New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (Bobby Moynihan) about his support of Ebola quarantines -- specifically that of Kaci Hickox, a Maine nurse who spent a weekend in an isolation tent near the airport in Newark when she returned from Sierra Leone.
"If you present symptoms, you will be quarantined," said Christie. He denied that he changed his quarantine policy after pressures from the Center For Disease Control. But he also suggested that someone convinced him to release Hickox from quarantine.
"But, if I then get a call from President Barack Obama, the man who visited me during Hurricane Sandy and stood with me windbreaker to windbreaker -- how do you say no to a man like that?"

Kelly then interviewed a rebellious Hickox (Kate MicKinnon) via satellite who said that since her return home to Maine, she's "been doing whatever she feels like," including swimming in a public pool and handing out M&Ms with her bare hands on Halloween.
"Weekend Update" co-anchor Colin Jost also discussed Hickox, joking about her reaction to a Maine judge's ruling on Friday rejecting a bid by state health officials to restrict the movement of the nurse.
Jost said, she "was so happy with the ruling, that she started vomiting blood."
In a parody of the entrepreneur show "Shark Tank," Rock and Kyle Mooney posed as ISIS militants and and asked the "Sharks," to help them manage their organization's rapid growth.
Rock also took on a protective father role where his daughter Janelle (Sasheer Zamata) was livestreaming her dance video blog. At first, he was displeased with his daughter's suggestive dancing on the internet, but then quickly became fascinated by the live YouTube video, causing his embarrassed teen to storm out of her room.
Musical guest Prince performed an eight-minute medley of his new songs "Clouds," "PlectrumElectrum," "Marz," and "AnotherLove" from his new album "Art Official Age."
"SNL" returns on November 17 with Woody Harrelson as host and musical guest Kendrick Lamar.
