Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine Among Nearly 300 Guests at Leonard Nimoy's Funeral

It was an intimate, but fond farewell as family and friends paid their respects to Leonard Nimoy at his funeral Sunday morning.

J.J. Abrams, Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine were just some of the 300 people who paid tribute to the "Star Trek" star who passed away Feb. 27 due to a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

According to Rabbi John L. Rosove, who delivered the eulogy at the service, everyone who attended was an important part of Nimoy's life.

"There was nobody there who didn't mean something to Susan and Leonard or to their children and grandchildren," he said before recalling the actor's love for his wife in particular. "His love, appreciation, respect and gratitude for her transformed him and enabled him to begin his life anew."

Rosove, who is also the first cousin to Nimoy's wife, also recalled stories of the actor's life both in and out of the spotlight. You can read the full eulogy here.

"Thank you for all the love and kind words to Leonard," his family posted on Facebook after the ceremony. "We lost a wonderful, talented, sweet man, a great father, husband, grandpa, and friend. Again thank you for all the love and good wishes."

One person who was unable to attend the funeral was "Star Trek" co-star William Shatner. While the actor had a prior commitment to attend the 58th International Red Cross Ball in Florida, his daughters were able to take his place Sunday morning.

"He had a good, long life, he did a lot of things, he inspired a lot of people, he was loved by a lot of people and he loved a lot of people," Shatner told Local10.com at the ball. "It's sad that you have to be reminded that life is that short."
