Bill Murray in Boston for ‘Ghostbusters' Shoot?

The actor was reportedly spotted arriving last week

Actor Bill Murray is in Boston this week to shoot his part in the new "Ghostbusters" film, according to a report.

Comingsoon.net reported over the weekend that Murray was seen arriving in Boston late last week. Filming on the comedy franchise reboot has been going since June.

Numerous outlets have reported that Murray will make an appearance in the film, but there has been no word on whether he will reprise the part of Dr. Peter Venkman from the first two "Ghostbusters" movies.

Before arriving on set, Murray threw out the first pitch at the Martha's Vineyard Sharks game in Edgartown on Sunday night. He is a part-owner of the collegiate summer team.

In July fellow original cast-member Dan Aykroyd was seen on the set in Boston. Aykroyd confirmed his cameo appearance via Twitter, telling fans, "On GB set shooting my scene with funny beautiful Kristen Wiig lady GB'S are adorable, hilarious and badass Exhilarating! #ghostbusters."

Though Aykroyd later deleted the tweet, the actor's reps confirmed his casting to Entertainment Weekly. No other details were provided.

Released in 1984, the original "Ghostbusters" starred Murray, Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis and Annie Potts. Directed by Ivan Reitman, the comedy has grossed almost $300 million at the international box office.

The new "Ghostbusters" film stars Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon, and is directed by Paul Feig ("Bridesmaids," "Spy"). It is scheduled to open in theaters July 15, 2016.
