A 22-year-old aspiring model, actress and singer posting racy photos on her Twitter account certainly isn't anything out of the ordinary. But when the woman in question is the daughter of the NHL's most famous and respected ambassador, you can understand how things could go bad.
Paulina Gretzky, daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, was apparently pressured by her father to close up her Twitter account, through which she frequently posted sexy photos of herself in lingerie and bikinis as well as party photos.
"Having a nice sit down dinner with my dad about social media...haha," Tweeted the younger Gretzky, before following up with: "Taking a break from Twitter for a bit. Happy Holidays!!!! xoxo."
The elder Gretzky, known as "The Great One," won multiple Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers in the '80s, and also played for the Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, and New York Rangers. He owns nearly every significant scoring record in the NHL, including most goals, most assists, and most overall points. Many, including his 92 goals in a single season, are considered untouchable. His iconic #99 is the only number ever to be retired league-wide.
Although the classy and diplomatic Gretzky managed to avoid controversy during his playing days, he hasn't been quite so lucky post-retirement. His wife, actress Janet Jones, was implicated in a betting scandal in 2006, and Wayne is involved in a messy break from the Phoenix Coyotes organization, where he coached, claiming the financially-troubled team owes him $8 million in salary.
On a more positive note, son Trevor Gretzky, a standout baseball player, was taken 219th overall by the Chicago Cubs in the 2011 MLB Draft.
