Rosie O'Donnell is coming back to daytime television, with a show on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Oprah herself made the announcement at the Summer TV Press Tour, according to The Washington Post. The OWN network says viewers can expect "a fun, uplifting show with Ms. O'Donnell's playful and energetic style."

O'Donnell told The Associated Press in March that she was planning an uplifting talk show that would make a difference in people's lives and build on what Winfrey has done with her show.

Daytime TV is familiar ground for O'Donnel, who hosted the syndicated daytime talk show "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" from 1996-2002, winning six consecutive Daytime Emmy Awards.

She later resurfaced as Meredith Vieira's replacement on ABC's "The View" in 2006, where her frank style and advocacy of gay causes helped boost ratings even as she feuded with executive producer Barbara Walters. She left "The View after a year and tried unsuccessfully to win the job of hosting "The Price is Right," a gig that went instead to Drew Carey.

Rosie's as yet unnamed daily, daytime, one hour talk show will be based in New York where she lives with her children.
