Country music sweetheart Carrie Underwood married her hockey honey, Ottawa Senators star Mike Fisher,  in a ceremony Saturday in Greensboro, Georgia, according to People magazine.

"We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!" said the couple in a statement released to People and signed "Mike & Carrie Fisher."

The ceremony took place at luxury resort in front of 250 family and friends. The bride wore a Chantilly lace dress designed by Monique Lhuillier.

The pair got engaged seven months ago, and both have talked about what kind of ceremony they want.

”I’m Southern. I like big hair and eyeliner," Underwood, 27, told Life & Style magazine. "I want my wedding to be me, so I’ll probably be rocking some big hair and eyeliner… I want [the dress] to be pretty traditional. I think I want flowers on it – not real flowers. [The designer will] probably be someone I’ve worked with before.”

As for Fisher, he told the mag he didn't want it to get too crazy.

“It’s going to be a good size wedding with plenty of good food and an open bar,” Fisher said. “But nothing too overblown. It’s still in the planning stages, so a lot of the details haven’t been finalized.”

Underwood, who was born and raised in Oklahoma, won season 4 of "American Idol" and went on to become the biggest-selling alum of the popular show. She's won two Grammy awards and a host of Country Music Association awards for such hits as "Jesus, Take the Wheel," "Before He Cheats" and :Just a Dream."

Fisher, 30, is a gritty center and co-captain for Ottawa.
