Bobby Brown to Perform in Connecticut Night of Houston Funeral

Bobby Brown performs in Connecticut on Saturday and in Jersey on Sunday.

Hours after his ex-wife’s funeral in Newark, N.J. on Saturday, Bobby Brown will be on stage in Connecticut, performing with New Edition, E Online reported.

New Edition's agent announced that Brown has rejoined the group's 30 anniversary tour after deaparting temporarily to be with his daughter in the wake of Whitney Houston's death.

Brown was on tour in Mississippi with his former band when he learned that Houston died on Saturday in Beverly Hills. He took the stage that night, occasionally weeping and at one point shouting "I love you, Whitney!" and blowing a kiss to the sky. He later flew out to Los Angeles to be with the couple’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who was briefly hospitalized for anxiety.

New Edition resumed its tour without Brown, but he will perform on Thursday night in Maryland, in Connecticut on Saturday and then in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday, according to spokespeople for the Mohegan Sun.

The Connecuticut show begins at 8 p.m. and does not conflict with Houston's funeral, though it remains unclear whether he will be attending.
