The much anticipated celebrity wedding took place at the luxury Aman-i-Khas resort-- close to the Ranthambhore sanctuary where the actor proposed -- in front of about 80 guests, Us Magazine reported.
"We just love each other and we want to get married in front of our friends and family and keep it very normal," Brand told The New York TImes' "Times Talk" ahead of the big day. "It ain't about selling pictures, it ain't about doing no pre-nup, it's just a normal thing."
The actor met his bride-to-be while on set of the comedy "Get Him to The Greek," in which the "Califronia Gurls" pop star had a quick cameo that didn't make the film.
Media were kept far from the festivities and four AP photographers claimed that bodyguards got so aggressive on Friday, they were physically assaulted. But Us Magazine reports that Perry was expected to wear an Elie Saab gown and Brand planned to "ride into the ceremony on a horse, flanked by camels and elephants."
Just days before the big day, Perry was seen wearing a traditional Indian bridal nose ring that is worn by brides throughout the marriage ceremony and removed by the groom on the wedding night in Indian tradition, Us Magazine reported.
Guests were entertained by Bollywood-themed performances, a traditional Indian Bazaar, and could enjoy the tigers and wildlife of the area, People reported.
As extravagant as the ceremony may sound, the English comedian insisted he wanted to keep things as normal as possible.
"I'm trying to preserve it, to keep it a beautiful thing," Brand told "Times Talks," "I think people get the wrong idea on how we want the wedding to play out. Love between two people is the most spectacular, yet ordinary thing in the world."
