Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor to Have Partial Leg Amputation

Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor will have part of her right leg amputated due to complications stemming from an infection, reports Reuters.

Gabor, known for her starring role in the original Moulin Rouge, has been in poor health since July when she broke her hip and, according to her husband, the lesion that caused her infection had become gangrenous.

Though she was reportedly "screaming and yelling" when told by doctors that should would have to miss her traditional New Year's Eve celebration of champagne and caviar due to the procedure, she relented when told that she could possibly die if she held off.

The 93-year-old faces serious complications from the surgery, but she could have a few years added to her life because of it, said her spokesman John Blanchette.

Gabor has famously been married nine times and may be most remembered for an altercation she had with a Beverly Hill policeman in 1989 in which she slapped him for pulling her over.
