The 90 year-old actor was granted a restraining order against his stepson

After claiming he was made to be a "prisoner" in his own home, former child star Mickey Rooney was granted a temporary restraining order against his stepson.

The 90 year-old actor alleges that Christopher Aber, 52, the son of Rooney's eighth wife, Jan Chamberlain, ""threatens, intimidates, bullies and harasses" Rooney, even going so far as to deny the aging star food and medicine.

Rooney also claims that Aber forces him to make appearances against his will and sign legal documents without allowing the actor to read them.

A Los Angeles court ruled in favor of Rooney, granting him a restraining order that prevents Aber from coming within 100 yards of both the actor and his home.

Rooney has been married to Chamberlain since 1978. Rooney continues to be busy - rumor has him pegged for a role in the upcoming "Muppet Movie."
