Mark Wahlberg is headed back to high school.
The 41-year-old rapper-turned-actor announced his plan to get a high school diploma on the “Late Show With David Letterman" Monday night.
"They had this new program in Massachusetts where you can take the courses online, so I'm starting this month and getting my high school diploma," the man once known as Marky Mark told Letterman.
The actor and one-time underwear model said he would study for his classes during free time on set, CBS News reported. He hopes to get his degree within six to eight months.
The former bad boy dropped out of the ninth grade after serving 45 days of a two-year sentence in jail for assault, according to ABC News.
For years after his stint as a New Kid, Wahlberg was better known as Marky Mark (of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch) and as a top Calvin Klein underwear model.
These days, he is best known for starring turns in films like “The Fighter” and “The Departed." He also stars in "Ted," which hits theaters June 29.
