One year after his son's death, the father of Michael Jackson is expected Friday to  file a wrongful death lawsuit against Dr. Conrad Murray.

Murray is the personal physician who admitted giving the 50-year-old singer propofol, the powerful sedative found to have caused his death. Attorney Brian Oxman, who once represented the singer and now represents Joe Jackson, told TMZ.com that the case would be filed in federal court at about  9 a.m. PT.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified monetary damages. The case will be filed in federal court instead of state court because Murray is not a  California resident.

A copy of the lawsuit
, obtained by TMZ, alleges that Murray withheld information from paramedics that may have helped them revive Jackson. It also alleges Murray tried to clean up,  or hide, evidence relevant to the death.

Accoding to CNN:

The suit alleges that Murray gave paramedics and doctors false information about what drugs Michael Jackson had been given and hindered efforts to revive him in an ambulance and at UCLA Medical Center.

Police found about 20 prescriptions for drugs, including methadone,  fentanyl and dilaudid,  in Jackson's rented Holmby Hills mansion.

Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter and scheduled for a  preliminary hearing Aug. 26.
