Let the rewteeting begin. Elizabeth Taylor is recovering from a successful heart surgery, according to her Twitter page.

"Dear Friends, My heart procedure went off perfectly. It's like having a brand new ticker. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes," said @DameElizabeth.

"I know they all helped. Love you, Elizabeth."

Taylor, 77, first announced the procedure Tuesday via Twitter: "It's very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery, so that my heart will function better."

The legendary actress preferred tweets to information being leaked "in the papers."

Taylor, who uses a wheelchair, rarely appears in public, but she attended the funeral of Michael Jackson at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale last month and also showed up briefly at the Macy's Passport AIDS/HIV research fundraiser in Santa Monica.

She has been reported to be in failing health in recent years, with heart and spinal problems. The actress had a benign brain tumor removed in 1997.
