Driving Her Crazy: Naomi's Chauffeur Apologizes

Now the haute-couture shoe is on the other perfectly crafted foot. When was the last time someone apologized to Naomi Campbell for getting angry and overreacting?

The driver who accused supermodel Naomi Campbell of assaulting him from the back seat of a luxury SUV in midtown now says he's the one "got angry and overreacted" and regrets involving the police.

Driver Miodrag Mejdina said through his lawyer Thursday that the incident was "blown out of proportion" and he wants to apologize to Campbell "for causing that to happen."

He says he will not press charges.

Campbell herself also issued a statement after Mejdina, saying she was being judged for things she had done in the past.

"On Tuesday, March 2nd I was accused of unacceptable behavior towards a driver in New York," said the supermodel."I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings and I will not be held hostage to my past. I try to treat everyone with respect and I am pleased the driver has apologized. I would like to put the last few days behind me and move on."

Mejdina had told police that Campbell hit him from behind Tuesday and his head struck the steering wheel of the black Cadillac Escalade.

Campbell has faced a series of lawsuits and criminal cases accusing her of attacking household employees in New York and Toronto and two police officers at London's Heathrow Airport. Usually she has used phones.
