Donna D'Errico in Sick “Bay”

Ex-Playmate asks fans to pray for her

"Baywatch" babe Donna D'Errico, who weeks ago after being singled out for a revealing scan by TSA agents, is  suffering  from a "serious medical issue."

"Prayer request -- this time for me -- a serious medical issue has arisen," the bombshell former Playboy pinup wrote on her Facebook page. "Thank you for any and all prayers."

TMZ reported that D'Errico has been infected with MRSA -- methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus -- a highly resistant bug that doesn't respond well to normal antibiotics. The site said she may have contracted the bug from a hospitalized relative.

D'Errico is expected to be hospitalized for several more days. MRSA infections, sometimes called "super bugs," can be life-threatening. Many public health experts are alarmed by the spread of tough strains of MRSA. Because it's hard to treat, MRSA is sometimes called a "super bug."

D'Errico, who played Donna Marco on "Baywatch" and who divorced Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx in 2007, was just in the news. D'Errico, her boyfriend and her 17-yea-old son were going through security at LAX airport when she was chosen for the intensive scanner that shows fliers' naked forms.

"It is my personal belief that they pulled me aside because they thought I was attractive," she said.

D'Errico was on her way to visit a sick relative in Pittsburgh, but it is not known if that person is suspected of passing along the bug.
