Dennis Hopper's Wife Responds To Divorce Filing, Asks For Physical Custody Of Their Daughter

Dennis Hopper's wife, Victoria, has responded to the actor's divorce filing, by also asking a judge to dissolve their marriage.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Dennis, 73, filed for divorce from his wife of nearly 14 years, citing irreconcilable differences on January 14 in Los Angeles Superior Court. And now, Victoria has asked for a divorce on the same grounds.

The couple has a daughter, Galen, 6, and while Dennis asked for joint physical and legal custody of the youngster in his filing, Victoria, 42, has asked for primary custody. She's asked for Dennis to just be given visitation rights.

Dennis and Victoria, his fifth wife, married in April 1996.

Victoria has hired attorney Sorrell Trope to represent her. Trope previously represented Britney Spears during her divorce with Kevin Federline.

Dennis, a star of the legendary "Easy Rider" film, revealed in the fall that he had been diagnosed with cancer and he said he had been battling it for the past nine years.

He previously told the Associated Press that he had started an experimental treatment at the University of Southern California.

"It has great promise," the actor said at he time. "Everything's good right now."

Dennis recently wrapped up filming the second season of "Crash," a television drama on the Starz cable network.
