Angelina Jolie Honored by Iraq Foreign Minister for Refugee Work

Actress and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador urged government officials to provide supplies for displaced Syrians.

Angelina Jolie's world-saving ways aren't going unnoticed.

On Saturday, the actress, advocate and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador met in Baghdad with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, who feted the actress for her humanitarian work. In appreciation for her efforts, Zebari presented Jolie with a colorful red box containing a symbolic gift.

Per the Washington Post, Jolie urged Zebari to ensure Syrian refugees have enough supplies, and as part of her solidarity tour for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Jolie has met with displaced Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon.

Angelina visits refugee camp in Beirut

"I am grateful to Jordan and the border countries for saving the lives [of those] who are dying in Syria," she said during her visit to a refugee tent camp in Jordan. "It's an extraordinary thing. We encourage the international community to support the people here until one day they go back home," she said.

Brad Pitt's fiance has traveled to various refugee camps around the world and has advocated for refugees' welfare for the past decade.
