To celebrate National Volunteer Month, the American Red Cross is asking for blood donors to join its crusade to increase much-needed reserves in April.

The Red Cross will sponsor blood drives from April 1-15 in several locations in the DMV.

Volunteer donors are the only source of blood for patients who need transfusions, so the Red Cross encourages all willing individuals to participate.

Donors of all blood types are welcome to donate this spring.
