Veterans History Project: Do Your Part to Preserve History Every Day

You can help "Do Your Part" to preserve the stories of America's veterans.

The Veterans History Project has been collecting and recording stories for the past 15 years from American war veterans and the civilians who took an active part in varying war initiatives. The focus of the Veterans History Project is gathering first-hand accounts from 17 wars, starting with World War I all the way through the Iraq War.

A large part of this process includes the veterans and civilians themselves willingly recounting their experiences as well as those individuals who take the time to conduct the interviews.

Those captured historical moments will then live on in the Library of Congress for future generations to read and hear.

Find information about the project and becoming an interviewer here.

You also will be able to watch NBC4 on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. during our Saluting Our Veterans programming to learn more about Do Your Part. Dates and times are subject to change.
