NBC4 Celebrates National Women's History Month

National Women’s History Month, held in March each year since 1987, recognizes crucial contributions that women have made to history. 

NBC4 will commemorate Women’s History Month with a NBC4 Special: “4 The Women We Love” that will air Saturday, March 19 at 10 a.m. In it, News4 anchors and reporters will honor the women in their lives.

NBCWashington also is running an Instagram campaign to call attention to the great women in the Washington D.C. area. Viewers are encouraged to participate in #WomenOfWashington; click here to suggest a woman for the campaign.

NBC4 is proud to highlight Women’s History Month with the help of our partner, Allstate. As part of Allstate’s contribution to the advancement of women, they are donating $5,000 to local non-profit Doorways.

NBC4 in partnership with Allstate and Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale Campus celebrated Women’s History Month on Wednesday, March 23.

Nicole Mancini, Head Coach, NOVA Nighthawks Women’s Cross Country Team, named 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Atlantic Region Coach of the Year,
Alyssa Johnson, NOVA Nighthawks Women’s Cross Country Team, named 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association All-Region 20 Team,
Brigette Weber, NOVA Nighthawks Women’s Volleyball Team, named 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association First Team All-Region 20,
Shannielle Joiner, NOVA Nighthawks Women’s Volleyball Team, named 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association Second Team All-Region 20,
Christian Roberts, NOVA Nighthawks Women’s Basketball Team, named 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association First Team All-Region 20,
Four out of the six provosts at Northern Virginia Community College are women. The Provost is equivalent to the President of the campus,
Elvira Bacigalupo, Allstate agent, recognized for her community contributions and
Allstate donated $5,000 to Doorways for Women & Families, a non-profit organization that creates pathways out of homelessness, domestic violence and sexual assault.
