The Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards lent their support to Food 4 Families at the Verizon Center Monday.
Join NBC4 and our partners as we help families in need in our area at Thanksgiving with our yearly Food 4 Families campaign. Your donations will be used to buy fresh vegetables and turkeys for local families.
An entire Thanksgiving meal for a family of four can be purchased with as little as $50.
Or, mail your check to NBC4 at this address:
Food 4 Families
4001 Nebraska Ave., NW
Washington, D.C. 20016
You can also donate money or food to Food 4 Families at a live event at the Verizon Center on Nov. 25, hosted by News4's Pat Lawson Muse.
Or you can drop off money or food at any of the participating locations of our partner, WashingtonFirst Bank (click here for locations).
Food donations should be limited to canned vegetables (yams, carrots, green beans, corn), cranberry sauce, apple sauce, canned fruits, soups (boxed or canned) and dry goods (stuffing, rice, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes).
We are fortunate to have a number of partners in Food 4 Families this year, including the nurses from MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Washington; Mattress Warehouse; and WashingtonFirst Bank.
We're also joined by the following: Magic 102.3; the Washington Wizards, Mystics and Capitals of Monumental Sports; PEPCO; Safeway; The Washington Informer newspaper; Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington; Metropolitan Police Department; Courtyard by Marriott Convention Center.
We thank the following for their support of Food 4 Families.
