There's more than gambling and early bird specials in Atlantic City, N.J. -- there's a food and wine festival to be had.
The 2013 Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival runs July 25-28, with wines, brews and celebrity chefs, including Rocco Dispirito, Robert Irvine and the Neelys.
The weekend of events includes Blue, Brews and BBQ
on July 27 ($75/person), being held at the House of Blues. Go for live music, barbecue vendors galore and more than a fair share of beer to be consumed.
The Chefs in Kitchen
event, also July 27 ($99/person) lets you ogle celebrity chef Rocco Dispirito while you delight in an exquisite meal kindly explained by Dispirito himself. He'll also answer your questions about the mysteries of the kitchen.
Other events include culinary-themed parties, tasting events, wine seminars, cooking classes and a weekend-long grand market.
Choose one or all of the 20 events happening during the festival (if you're some kind of machine or something). But if you want to stay and play, we're sure you could find lodging
of some sorts, with some great packages
to choose from specifically for the festival.
Atlantic City is located about three and a half hours from downtown D.C.
