Chocolate: a food with many possibilities. There’s chocolate candy (obvy), chocolate cake, chocolate beer, chocolate fondue, and it can even be used in spa treatments.
Whatever your taste for this tasty treat may be, this week's Art of Chocolate Festival in Norfolk (March 21-25) will satisfy all your cocoa cravings.
Nearly 50 vendors will be on site, offering yummy bites and activities including Loco for Cocoa, a bartender challenge. Norfolk’s best bartenders will create your favorite chocolate concoctions, and you get to vote for your favorite. DJ Riley will be live on stage during the challenge to get your body moving and grooving.
The main event on Saturday, March 24 (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) is the Chocoholic's Dream. Tickets are $20 at the Scope Exhibition Hall in Norfolk (440 Bank St., Norfolk, Va.), with chocolate samples, wine tastings, demonstrations and, of course, tons of chocolate available for purchase.
Chocolate-themed dinners will be provided at many of Norfolk's finer restaurants during the festival as well.
Last but not least is the Chocolate and Champagne Brunch on Sunday, March 25. Enjoy chocolate-covered treats and a glass of bubbly. Children’s activities will be provided by Young Chefs Academy.
