Loudoun County Fair, Featuring… Masters of the Chainsaw

Yeah, the summer seems endless, but it's not all mosquitoes and steep A/C bills. For one shining week, you can enjoy small town-style fun (and funnel cake) at the Loudoun County Fair.

This isn't just any county fair -- it's highly recognized for its famous Kiss-a-Pig fundraiser and livestock auction. Want to bring home your own goat? This could be your chance!

Of course, you'll also find typical (but no less necessary) fair fun, including carnival rides, a demolition derby, a rodeo bull ride and a petting zoo. More unusual entertainment includes a freestyle BMX Bike Show, a bubblegum blowing contest, and Masters of the Chainsaw, plus the original Agricadabra show, which combines farming fun with mysterious magic.

Looking for something more upscale? OK, so a spaghetti dinner's as upscale as it's gonna get, but each evening the fair offers a sit-down 4-H dinner in Sykes Hall for $7-$3 per person.

The fair runs July 23-28 at the Loudoun County Fairgrounds (17558 Dry Mill Road, Leesburg, Va.).
