Icelandic Christmas Bazaar This Saturday

Did you know that the Icelandic Christmas season lasts 26 days?

Not bad, huh?

It starts 13 days before Christmas Day, and according to tradition, there's a different gift-bearing Santa for each of those days.

Sp why are we telling you this? Well, the Icelandic Association of D.C. will be hosting the Icelandic Christmas Bazaar this Saturday, Nov. 12. The free event will be showcasing decorations, crafts and authentic Icelandic food. You might even be able to see what makes the handmade Icelandic woolens so unique.

The event is being held at the American Legion Post 177 (3939 Oak St., Fairfax, Va.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

And if you're been really really good all year long, be sure to put a shoe in your window. (The Icelandic people are a little too chilly for stockings alone.)
