Party With Ravens, Orioles Players at Baltimore's Flip Flop Festivus

Get cozy (and charitable) in Baltimore with past and present Ravens and Orioles athletes at the 5th annual Flip Flop Festivus, coming up Friday, Sept. 20.

The ultimate football party -- and probably your last chance to wear flip-flops this year -- features food, raffles, cocktails and the chance to rub shoulders with famous athletes, with all proceeds ging to research efforts at Johns Hopkins University.

During the main event ($100/person), Chef Josean Rosado will use his worldwide cuisine knowledge to deliver a farm-to-table menu while you listen to the fresh jives from The A-Town A-List, an Atlanta-based band that tours nationally. A live auction and raffle will also take place during the main event.

If you choose the VIP treatment ($175/person) you'll gain access to a reception with past and present members of the Orioles and Ravens as guests, including Matt Stover, Brad Jackson, Michael McCrary, Qadry Ismail and others, including a few Ravens cheerleaders.

During the VIP reception, you can pose for pictures with the athletes or just relax, sip on cocktails, listen to the band and enjoy the cuisine.

The sponsor of the event, Life and Breath, raises funds to improve health care, improve communication between patients and physicians, and funds the research for finding a cure for sarcoidosis, a disease that results from a specific type of inflammation of tissues of the body.

Tickets are available online.

The VIP event is 6:30-8 p.m.; the main event runs 7-11 p.m. at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel (550 Light St. Baltimore, Md.).
