Festival of Trains at B&O Railroad Museum

We're not sure why, but we think that trains and Christmas go together like a horse and carriage... or maybe a train and caboose.  No?

OK, enough with our confusing metaphors, because as we speak (or write), the B&O Railroad Museums (Baltimore and Ellicot City) are holding the Festival of Trains and Toys, now through Dec. 31. The event features weekend train rides, photo-ops with Santa and Frosty, as well as way too many other happenings to write on this tiny blog.

Purchase a combo ticket (admission to both museums) by adding just $2 to any admission price, and see what both museums have to offer.

Train rides are sold at the Baltimore location on a first come, first served basis. You'll get unlimited rides for the whole day on Choo Choo Blueville, Train Carousel and Mile One Express (a 20-minute round trip ride along the first commercial mile of track laid in America).

The Baltimore B&O Railroad Museum is located at 901 West Pratt St., Baltimore Md. Admission is $14 adults, $8 kids. The Ellicot City Museum (the oldest surviving railroad station in America) is located at 2711 Maryland Ave., Ellicot City, Md. (of course). Admission is $5 adults, $3 kids.
