Seafood Splurge at the Tawes Clam Bake

We're just assuming that having an all-you-can-eat crab/clam bake near a marina automatically makes if better than average. And yeah, the Millard Tawes Clam Bake in Maryland is near a marina.

For $40, you'll get your fix of yummy summery food including steamed crabs, watermelon and corn on the cob, as well as soda, beer and water.

The feast is Wednesday, July 18 starting at noon, at the Somers Cove Marina (7th St. Crisfield, Md.), about three hours from D.C.

Another reason to visit the area? Janes Island State Park, which is part island, part mainland, and backs up to the Chesapeake Bay. It has thousands of acres of saltmarshes and more than 30 miles of water trails.
