Head for the West (pause) Virginia hills to sample some the state's best microbrews at the 2012 Blues, Brews and BBQ Festival at Snowshoe Mountain on Saturday, Aug. 11.
Participating breweries include North End Brewery, Morgantown Brewing Company and Bridge Brew Works. Each beer fest ticket includes 10 samples plus a ticket for a meal from any of the Village restaurants.
Musician John Mayall will be playing Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Mayall was the founder of the pivotal blues band John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, which once included musicians such as Eric Clapton and Mick Fleetwood. Angel Blue and the Prophets and Elliott and the Untouchables will also make appearences
Festival tickets with concert admission are $72; without music you'll pay $52. A collector's brew mug and t-shirt will be included with each ticket.
Snowshoe Mountain (10 Snowshoe Drive, Snowshoe, W.V.) is about four and a half hours from downtown D.C.
