Shucks! Beer & Oyster Fest This Weekend

What the shell? Thousands of oysters are set to be served up at this weekend's annual Beer and Oyster Festival at National Harbor, Md.

If you crave the good life (ahem, that includes beer), you'll be happy to find the 20+ craft beers, wines and spirits at the festival, along with 10 types of oysters from around the globe. Each kind has its own shucking station. From Lonestar Mediums to Salt Ponds to West Coast Kumaamotos... there's an oyster of your dreams just waiting for you.

Enjoy these delectables either raw, steamed or roasted -- or choose the grilled oyster options, with flavors like barbecue and goat cheese, herb garlic parmesan and Mignonette sauce.

You can also make it a weekend by booking a stay at the Gaylord National Resort. Packages start at $130 per person on double occupancy, and include accomodations for two, two tickets to the festival and a 2012 Chesepeake Oyster Fest apron.

Tickets to the festival are $89 per person. The fest runs Friday, Feb. 24 from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 25 from noon to 9 p.m. at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, Md. It's about 10 miles south of downtown D.C.
