Annapolis Comic-Con: Zombies Not Invited

The Annapolis Comic-Con (273 Hilltop Lane, Annapolis, Md.) really wants to save you from a zombie apocalypse.

This two day comic fest (March 24-25) features writing workshops, advice on how to create authentic Spider-Man costumes (because everyone needs to know!) and other helpful tips -- including how to survive an impending zombie apocalypse (for the upcoming Marvel battle of the Avengers and X-Men).

"If there's something you're looking for, you'll find it,'' said Steve Anderson, owner of Third Eye Comics and event organizer. "This is a really great time for comics. There are readers from all walks of life."

Besides just the comics, more than 30 well-known writers and artists, some involved with "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" to characters in "Star Trek," will take part in panel discussions.

For the lil' comic book lovers, Sunday's events will be family friendly, with costume contests and a build-your-favorite-superhero event. Kids (or adults) will get the chance to sculpt  their own character using modeling clay from the Art Smart Studio.

A two-day pass is $15, Daily passes are $10. Hours are Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
