Annapolis Book Festival Includes a ‘Hunger Games' Training Center

They have scrawled it, inked it, or -- more realistically -- typed it. Now it's your turn to revel in their discourse. The Annapolis Book Festival is Saturday, April 21, and admission is free.

Buy new books, browse secondhanders from a massive selection, and have featured authors sign your new purchases. Discussions include Young Adult Books: Keeping It Real, Election 2012, The Rise of Audio Books, and plenty of writing workshops.

Activities at the event include a "Hunger Games" training center, which pits you against expert martial arts instructors that will make you sweat your way to your inner warrior. You'll also have the chance to make your very own accordion-style book that you can personalize to your own liking.

Kids' activities include magic and science shows, book reading (of course), a display of storybook furniture, and a workshop on making one's own bubble blower.

The book festival is Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at 534 Hillsmere Drive in Annapolis, Md.
