Don't ever actually do this to your dog. Please.

Since your border collie is sorta already wearing a tux, why not make the most of it? Bring your fur kid to wine, dine, dance and help save the lives of abandoned animals during the fifth annual Fur Ball Gala Fundraiser.

OK, the wine is just for people.

Located three hours away from D.C. at the Hampton Roads Convention Center (1610 Coliseum Drive, Hampton, Va.), the event offers plenty of activities for you to do with both your special someone and/or pet. (Sometimes they are one and the same. We are not here to judge.)

Go for dinner, free cocktails, silent and live auctions, and a personal escort for your furry friend throughout the night. The four-legged crowd can be entertained at Pet Plaza, enjoy treats at the “Muttini Bar” (so clever), walk the red carpet during the Parade of Pets, and even recieve special gift bags to bring home. Music is provided by the Fur Ball band.

Raffles will give away prizes like an Amazon Kindle, a gift certificate for a massage and facial, a one-week stay in the Outer Banks, and more.

Proceeds will go to benefit the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The event is Saturday, Feb. 4 from 6 to 11 p.m. Dinner is a choice between prime rib, crabcake, or a vegetarian entrée. You can buy admission and raffle tickets online at $125 per person and $75 per pet.
