A Titanic Last Supper in Annapolis

The 100th anniversary of the Titanic is almost upon us.

Making plans yet? OK, probably not, but your options include the following: Visit the little-known Titanic  memorial in Southwest D.C.; catch the 3D version of the 1997 film starting next week; take a bone-chilling memorial cruise... or acknowledge this milestone with food.

Along these lines, Flying Dog Brewery is hosting a dubiously appropriate Ghosts of the Titanic beer dinner at the Rockfish (400 6th St., Annapolis, Md.) on Saturday, April 14.

The dinner will re-create the “last supper” of the passengers (the wealthy ones, of course) aboard the Titanic.

Ten courses will be served with beer pairings. Highlights include a sirloin of beef and chateau potatoes paired with Snake Dog IPA, and poached salmon with mousseline sauce, served with cucumbers and paired with Doggie Style Classic pale ale.

The event begins with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. The cost is $125 per person or $450 for a table of four. Reservations are required; call 410-267-1800 to make yours.
