Susquehanna Riverboat Cruise: Pirates Optional

If you climb aboard the Pride of the Susquehanna in Harrisburg, Penn., you may get more than just a river boat cruise, you'll get an education... and/or beer.

This sturdy paddle wheeler has been cruising along the beautiful Susquehanna River for almost 25 years, offering various catogories of cruises.
 
Jazzin' on the Pride will run every Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., from June 7 to Oct. 25 They dock the boat near Front Street so jazz musicians can climb aboard and soothe away that hard day's work you had. Think of it as a floating happy hour -- with no cover charge. When happy hour's over, they start up the engine for a sunset cruise ($10).
 
You can also take a 75-minute educational voyage, called River School, during which you'll learn about the history of the river and all its surroundings. ($14 adults; $9 kids.)
 
Ahoy, me hearties! There's one more thing we think you should know about: Pirates on the Pride, a two-hour ride available in the summer, features costumed pirates, pirate water guns and water balloon battles. Ady fun. ($24.50; $19.50 kids.)
