Maryland Irish Festival

The Maryland Irish Festival is back this weekend, showcasing live music on three stages, cultural exhibits, dance performances and workshops.

Shop vendors galore and, obviously, take in copious amounts of Irish food and drink. Competitions include darts, fleadh, baking, corn hole, and the ever-important Men in Kilts.

Go Friday evening for special happy hour pricing, including reduced-price tickets and drinks until 8 p.m.

This huge indoor festival is located at the Maryland State Fairgrounds (2200 York Road, Timonium, Md.), about 15 miles north of Baltimore.

If the beer is calling to you and you'd prefer not to drive, tag along on a bus trip organized by The Rovers (pictured) and Crossing Celtic, which departs from Annapolis and Crofton on Nov. 12. For $45, you'll get a ticket to the festival, a small happy hour buffet, Guinness, Harp and Cider, and party favors.

The festival runs Friday, Nov. 11 (6-11 p.m.); Saturday, Nov. 12 (noon-11 p.m.) and Sunday, Nov. 13 (noon-6 p.m.). Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors age 62+ and $5 for age 12-17. Kids younger than 12 are free.
