Lighthouse Expeditions on the Chesapeake

Boat tours can be a bit... abundant around the Chesapeake Bay. How do you choose what you want without ending up paralyzed by indecision?

Enter Chesapeake Lights, a tour company located about two hours from D.C. that offers six different lighthouse expeditions and boat tours.

If you love a sunset, and we think you do, embark from Tilghman Island for a two-hour boat trip to visit Bloody Point Lighthouse (sounds ominous) and Thomas Point Lighthouse. On the return trip, kick back and enjoy the sunset. The tour runs every Friday evening beginning May 4.

Other trip options include the North Beach Express, and the Southern Chesapeake Lighthouse expedition, which is a two-day journey. You’ll swing by Tangier Island, stay overnight in Onancock, Va., and passes lighthouse that are only visible via boat. This tour is $250 per person.

The North Beach Express tour is simply a day of beachin’ it. Master the art of beach bumming after you depart from Tilghman Island to North Beach, where you can shop or sunbathe (beach pass included).
