Carlisle B&B: Free Night in January

Carlisle, Penn., is known for the following: the annual car show, former Redskins' training camp, the war college, and charming bed and breakfastses (breakfasts?)(fast breaks).

When the gloomy D.C. frozen swamp weather gets you down, the Carlisle House Bed and Breakfast (148 S Hanover St., Carlisle, Penn.) is but a two-hour drive away, and well worth it.

Right in the heart of charming Carlisle, it's a five-minute walk from Dickinson College, the Cumberland County Historical Society and the Carlisle Theater.

The Carlisle House was constructed in the 1700s, and is the only B&B in the historic downtown area. It's located near many historical sites that are also worth the drive, including Hershey, Penn., and the Gettysburg Battlefield.

Other activities available include world-class fly fishing, golfing, bike and driving tours of Carlisle's historic district, the Army Heritage Trail, and kayaking on the Susquehanna.

Carlisle also prides itself on their wonderful restaurants, sprawling scenery, and, hey! It's home to the Guinness Book of World Records' "Fastest Beer Drank."

Book for one night in January, and you'll get the second night free. A stay at the Carlisle House includes wireless Internet, fine English teas, and a breakfast spread which includes a homemade quiche.
