Weekend Watch List: PEE WEE!

Welcome to Watch List, where we identify five things on TV to watch while you stay at home and celebrate “Parks and Recreation” being renewed for a fourth season. Yay!!! Woohoo! More funny for daddy! LET’S GO!

THE PEE WEE HERMAN SHOW ON BROADWAY – 10:00PM Saturday (HBO) I grew up with “Pee Wee’s Playhouse” on TV every Saturday morning, and then Pee Wee did that thing he did and suddenly it was gone. But now Pee Wee is BACK! And he’s on Broadway! And he’s still got the talking chair and smoking hot Miss Yvonne and everything! (No Laurence Fishburne, though. I’m told the cowboy costume was a tight squeeze.) So for a little whiff of nostalgia, check out HBO’s taping of the live show. Maybe Pee Wee will get arrested again after the show’s over to really make you feel like a kid again. ANTICIPATION: I AM NOT A BABY! I AM NOT A BABEEEEEE!

BIG LOVE – 9:00PM Sunday (HBO) It’s the final episode of “Big Love” ever. So tune and say goodbye to Bill and Barb and Margene and the rest of those crazy polygamists. Hopefully, this one won’t end with an inexplicable smash cut to black. ANTICIPATION: BITTERSWEET!

CELEBRITY APPRENTICE – 9:00PM Sunday (NBC) One of the teams questions their leader’s mental competence. Ah, so Busey got to lead a team this week! NICE! ANTICIPATION: BUSEY IN CHARGE!

CHARLIE SHEEN: ON THE BRINK – 10:00PM Sunday (TLC) Join TLC as they examine the stable, happy life of Charlie Sheen, a relatively anonymous actor who appears on television only very rarely. Sheen’s ex-gal Ginger Lynn dishes about her former lover. And you know you’re in big trouble when even a porn star is like, “Man, that dude has issues.” ANTICIPATION: SHEEN!

BOB’S BURGERS – 8:30PM Sunday (FOX) While I’m extremely happy that “Parks and Rec” got renewed, I’m not quite as optimistic about the fate of this show. And that’s a shame, because “Bob’s Burgers” is easily my favorite new comedy of the season, and it just doesn’t seem to be getting any traction. I think if it were airing on cable, it would be a much greater success. It would have been a better fit for that show’s oddball sensibilities. But I think FOX was too big a stage for a show that’s destined to be loved by a small few and ignored by everyone else. ANTICIPATION: SAVE BOB’S!
