The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo to Square Off With Dracula

Giudice, a cast member of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," was released from the Danbury Federal Correctional Institution in Connecticut, where she had been serving time since Jan. 5. Lori Bordonaro reports. (Published Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015)

Settle down, folks. No one's writing a fourth installment of Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy. No, Noomi Rapace, star of the original Swedish films, has been cast for a new vampire film.

Rapace and Ben---excuse us--Sir Ben Kingsley have signed on to star in "The Last Voyage of the Demeter," about the ill-fated ship that was meant to carry Count Dracula's coffin to the "teeming millions" of London, reported 24 Frames.

In Bram Stoker's original novel, the Demeter is a Russian ship that sets sail from Varna only to run aground in Whitby, England, it's entire crew having vanished. A reading of the captain's log shows that one by one the men aboard the ship disappeared amid strange circumstances.

While the role of the Count remains uncast, Rapace will play a stowaway on the ship and we're willing to bet that Kingsley will be the ship's captain.

Rapace has previously locked up a role in "Sherlock Holmes 2," and is being courted by producers all over Hollywood. It's a safe bet her name will continue to crop up around all manner of projects. Her final turn as Lisbeth Slander, in "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest," opens in the states on Oct. 29.
