"The Devil's Double" Trailer Debuts

advertisement

"The Devil's Double" is being described as a twist on the over-the-top, no-holds-barred "Scarface"-style gangster movie - only this time the debauched nutjob at the center isn't some street level thug turned drug lord, but the privileged son of none other than Saddam Hussein.

Dominic Cooper ("Mamma Mia") takes on the dual roles of Hussein's sadistic son Uday as well as that of a man named Latif Yahia, who accepts the Faustian bargain of being Uday's official body double. The movie is directed by Lee Tamahori ("Die Another Day") and is based on Yahia's novel.

The trailer is enough sex and drugs and gold-plated violence to give Tony Montana pause. I mean, check out the poster, for crying out loud.

"The Devil's Double" will be released July 29th.
