“Five-Year Engagement” Trailer, With Jason Segel and Emily Blunt, Promises a Genuinely Good RomCom

Jason Segel has established himself as both the unlikeliest of romantic leading men, as well as one of Hollywood's more reliable screenwriters. With his "Muppets" reboot still doing brisk business, Segel now serves up the trailer for "Five-Year Engagement."

The film stars Segel and Emily Blunt as a young couple in love who learn the hard way that it is far easier to get engaged than it is to get married, as they encounter one roadblock after another. The trailer is a pleasant reminder that romantic comedies don't have to be cloying or sexist or stupid.

Segel wrote the script with his "Muppets" co-writer, Nicholas Stoller, who also directed the film. The new trailer is pretty great, with a supporting cast boasting the likes of Allison Brie, Jacki Weaver, Rhys Ifans, Chris Pratt, Mindy Kaling and plenty more familiar faces. You just know Ifans is totally gonna hit on Blunt.

After her great turn in "Adjustment Bureau," Blunt looks to be ready for a huge 2012, with "Five-Year," "Salmon Fishing in Yemen" and "Looper" all on the way.

"Five-Year Engagement" opens April 27, 2012.
