Beckinsale Offered “Total Recall” Role, Eva Mendes & Rosario Dawson Up for Another

After all the beautiful music they made together in "Underworld," it's hardly surprising that Len Wiseman is reaching out to Kate Beckinsale yet again.

Beckinsale has been offered the role of Lori in Wiseman's "Total Recall" remake, reports Deadline. The part was originally played by Sharon Stone in the 1990 version. As for the other major female role, Melina, previously played by Rachel Ticotin, Eva Mendes and Rosario Dawson are said to be in the hunt.

"Total Recall" is based on the short story by Phillip K. Dick, "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale," the film will star Colin Farrell as Douglas Quaid, a factory worker who comes to think he's a spy, but he's not sure which nation state, Euromerica or New Shanghai, he's working for. Cohaagen, Bryan Cranston, is the leader of Euromerica, and is planning to invade New Shanghai.

This new version of "Total Recall" is due to drop Aug. 3, 2012.
