The Council of Fashion Designers of America promises some major house porn from the style world with their lushly photographed new book American Fashion Designers At Home. Copublished with high-end imprint Assouline and written by design expert Rima Suqi, the $65 coffee table tome--released this month to coincide with New York Fashion Week--takes us on a tour of 100 razzle-dazzle residences, including Carolina Herrera's Louis XV-style apartment, Betsey Johnson's ultragirly pink pad and Donna Karan's serene, eco-friendly villa in Turks and Caicos.
In honor of the book, CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg and a coterie of other CFDA designers (Elie Tahari, Nicole Miller, Lambertson & Truex) have teamed up with interior decorators such as Jonathan Adler to outfit a showhouse at Manhattan luxury building, the Aldyn. Will there be a leopard-print room evoking DVF's wrap dresses? Is black the ultimate eternally chic color for paint? We'll have more about that soon.
