Probably the most exciting thing to happen in 2009, the year of the release, is the creation of the alt/stoner/classic rock supertrio Them Crooked Vultures.
The mind-blowing union of legendary Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, stoner metal icon Josh Homme (Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age) and D.C.'s own Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) -- back on drums where he belongs -- is releasing its debut LP on Nov. 17. It better be as good as the lineup suggests it should be.
Their YouTube page offered this track from the album:
I'm optimistic. Those vulture people are way cool looking.
