Run For The Animals!
I love the Poplar Springs Animal Sanctuary out in Poolesville, Md. They rescue animals who otherwise would be destined for abuse and slaughter and give them a beautiful farm to live out their days.
It's a beautiful place. I encourage you to visit. Make sure you say hi to Norman, a former "veal calf" rescued from that suffering and allowed to grow to an enormous size. He's a wonder of the world.

This Sunday, May 17, is the Run For The Animals 5-k at Wheaton Regional Park. It's a fundraiser for Poplar Springs. It costs $25 in advance or $28 at the door.
A good way to get in shape and do something nice at the same time for a sanctuary that deserves our praise and our thanks.
