Obama Orders Chesapeake Bay Restored

The president issued an executive order to restore the Chesapeake Bay Tuesday.

At a news conference overlooking the Potomac River in Mount Vernon, Va., President Barack Obama announced the order, the Associated Press reported.

It establishes an Environmental Protection Agency-led committee to oversee restoration efforts.

Lisa Jackson, of the EPA, called the Chesapeake a national treasure, the AP reported. It's the largest estuary in the U.S.
