Cute Litter Trap to Debut in DC
DC DOE

Today, Mayor Adrian Fenty will unveil a trash removal system -- the first of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, so the press release says -- to aid in the cleanup of the Anacostia River.

The system, called a Bandalog Litter Trap, is roughly the size of a truck, according to the people at the District Department of the Environment, and kind of looks like it could be related to WALL-E, according to me.

Australia and Asia have successfully used the Trap for the past 10 years, and District officials hope it will help realize their goal to restore the Anacostia as a fishable and swimmable river by the year 2032.

Maybe the Bandalog creators in Australia can send over a nice lady robot to help him out.
