Perry Doesn't Make Virginia Primary Ballot

Texas Gov. Rick Perry failed to gather enough signatures to get on the ballot for Virginia's March 6 presidential primary, the Republican Party of Virginia told the Associated Press Friday evening.

The party began validating petitions to get on the ballot Friday morning.

A total of 10,000 signatures is required for validation, and that must include 400 from each of the commonwealth's 11 congressional districts.

The process continues for the petitions Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul filed with the State Board of Elections.
