Some Maryland lawmakers want to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana.
The State Senate advanced a bill that would eliminate jail time for anyone caught with less than 10 grams of pot.
Instead, those people would face a $100 fine.
Supporters say the legislation would save money, but opponents fear it would encourage people to use drugs more.
